Today a press conference was held to reveal the names of the major players that accepted the invitation to Czech Masters 2019, that will be held in August at Albatross.

Sixth annual D+D REAL Czech Masters will be held August 15 to 18 at Albatross Golf Resort. Total prize money, that will be divided among players will be 1 million Euros. The main star of the tournament, as announced today at a press conference, will be Ernie Els. The famous south African player has won the Open championship twice in his career as well as two titles at US Open. Ernie has won a total of 71 tournaments on the world professional circuit, 19 at PGA Tour and 28 at European Tour. “I am delighted to play in the Czech Republic this year. I have only been to Czech once, quite a few years ago. I would like to invite everyone to Albatross. It is a great opportunity to watch worldclass golf and hopefully see many birdies. I am thankful for the invitation and hope to see you all at Czech Masters” said Els via video greeting at the press conference held at Vienna House Andel’s Prague. Els who is a former world no. 1 has won over 2 billion Czech crowns in prize money throughout his career.
„We have worked for a few years already to get Ernie Els to Czech Masters. He is a part of the progression of the tournament, as he is the most successful golfer to participate in the tournament yet. There are not many iconic players left to be invited to Czech Masters. August is going to be an exceptional experience for us spectators“ said Peter Dědek, owner of the promoting company Relmost.

Furthermore Padraig Harrington, a three-time major champion and a European Ryder Cup captain will come and follow up on his second place finish from last year. Lee Westwood will make a fourth consecutive appearance at Czech Masters. Winner of 43 world professional tournaments has recently added a title at the Rolex Series in South Africa last fall. Also confirmed is Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn, who has led team Europe to a successful Ryder Cup last year in Paris.
