Wacky and wild weather

The good new is the course has survived winter and is in good shape for the 2018 season. Every type of weather has been thrown at us and it seemed like winter was dragging on for an age until all of a sudden we have been blessed with the recent glorious weather.

Although later then planned all the playing surfaces have had their spring renovations and are recovering very well with little disruption to play.

Over the next couple of weeks more seed will be added to the fairways which are already much improved, playing firmer with a nice covering of grass. The new seed which was planted last year is starting to take over and fill the gap of the horrible flowering Poa which has been chemically treated.

Before winter all the long rough have been cut and collected which was a mammoth task and involved mountains of grass being removed. This will lead to a much more player friendly rough and when the fescue seeds it will be picturesque.

The maintenance team have also renovated some player walkways on the course and added one from 2 green to 3 tees. Over the year we aim to continue with this process to help speed up play and minimise detours.
