This Sunday, 16 August 2026, the fifth tournament of this year’s Texas Scramble Pairs series took place. Although the players were greeted by some light drizzle in the morning, the long-awaited cooler weather did not last for long, and by the afternoon the sun was once again shining in full force. Despite the changing weather, it was clear that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
All 26 pairs produced some excellent scores. As is starting to become a tradition, the second nine once again decided third place. This time, Petra and Štěpán Šimek came out on top in the tie-break with a net score of 65. Second place went to Zdeňka and Ondřej Beneš with 64, while the best score of the day — a net 63 — secured victory for Libor and Adam Škoda.

The final tournament of this year’s series will take place on 27 September. In addition to awarding the top three pairs of the tournament, we will also announce the overall winner of the main season prize — a dinner for two at our club restaurant, AUREA Restaurant. Of all the teams we have seen throughout this year’s Sunday tournaments, only two pairs remain in contention for the season title.
