Zbyněk has passed away. For most of us, he was an inseparable part of Albatross — someone who simply belonged to our course.
He always welcomed us with a smile, seemed to know every member by name, kept track of how everyone was playing, took a genuine interest in what was happening at the club, and never forgot to offer a helping hand. He knew the course in every detail — how the greens were running, where the rough was thick, and even which areas stayed dry after the rain. With his kind sense of humour, he could gently encourage even the slowest groups to pick up the pace without ever spoiling anyone’s good mood.
With his cheerful nature, warmth and genuine interest in people, he helped create the atmosphere that made us look forward to coming back to Albatross. He was one of those people who turn a golf course into a place where you simply feel at home.
We will miss him not only as a marshal, but above all as a person.
Our sincere condolences go to his family and all those close to him.
Zbyněk, thank you for everything. We will never forget you. 🖤
