This past season has brought exciting news to our academy. Over the winter we introduced a new training concept aimed at helping players grow not only in golf but also as individuals. Teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of our approach.
Our goal is to support each player’s development while emphasizing the importance of golf as a team sport. Thanks to this, Albatross Golf Club now has full representation in all national team competitions.
The journey in our academy begins with the KIDS groups. From there, players progress through development groups and eventually advance into three team groups: Open, Players, and Masters.
The Open group introduces children to golf as a team sport for the first time. We have two such groups and their members already represented us at this year’s Czech U14 Team Championship. The Players group works with golfers who have a solid foundation of skills and are just one step away from joining the prestigious Masters group, which serves as the foundation for all junior national team competitions.
This year's Czech U16 Team Championship 2025, known as Czech You Masters, took place at Kunětická Hora. Our team represented by Kristýna Boučková, Dominik Daďa, Anna Gejdošová and Antonín Mucha and led by captain Gregg LaVoie finished in an impressive fourth place among 32 teams from across the country.
The U14 and U18 Team Championships began with regional qualifiers in the western and eastern parts of the country. The top eight teams advanced to the finals held at Austerlitz and Lázně Bohdaneč.
Our U18 boys team represented by Tobias Brejník, Tomáš Hejda, Antonín Mucha and Jiří Musil and led by captain Aleš Procházka finished in an excellent fourth place in a very strong field. Meanwhile, the U14 team, represented by Dominik Daďa, Matyáš Jirásek, Ellin Kohoutek and Marek Zahradník and led by captain Petr Novák fought their way to a silver medal in the finals.
Thanks to the growing number of young players, our academy also celebrated success in the Regional Youth Tour Club Cup, where Albatross Golf Club secured second place and took home the silver medal.
At the top of this pyramid are the men’s and women’s team competitions.
Our men’s team competes in the highest division, Extraliga. This year, experienced Jan Cafourek took over as team captain, selecting a lineup that combined youth and experience. The roster included several newcomers from the Masters group, some making their Extraliga debut. The team composed of Jan Cafourek, Tobias Brejník, Dominik Daďa, Patrik Daďa, Tomáš Hejda, Antonín Mucha, Jiří Musil and Václav Tichý made us extremely proud by finishing third and claiming bronze medals. This only confirms that the future of our club lies in teamwork across all age categories.
Our women’s team, competing in the 1st League, also achieved outstanding results. Kristýna Frýdlová, Elizabeth Křenovská, Klára Sionková, Adéla Tarantová and Angie Vidová won the 1st League Final, reclaiming their spot in Extraliga for the upcoming season.
We are fortunate to have our professional players Julien Brun and Jiří Zuska actively involved in the development of our academy, and we are excited to welcome Jana Melichová to join them next season. Their experience and professional approach are an enormous inspiration for our young players.
We thank all academy players and coaches for their dedication, hard work, and team spirit.
A special thank you goes to our partners and supporters, whose generosity allows us to provide players with excellent training facilities and experienced fitness and mental coaching. This year we built an outdoor workout area, a warmup gym and acquired a Trackman device.
We firmly believe that supporting junior golf and nurturing young talent is key to the future of golf as a sport built on fair play, respect, and teamwork.
