The organisers of the seventh edition of the D+D REAL Czech Masters have announced the biggest star of the event. It is Henrik Stenson, who will play in the Czech Republic for the first time. Other stars already confirmed for this year are Pádraig Harrington and Thomas Pieters. There will also be several Czech players, led by Odřej Lieser, who managed to get a full card for ET last year.
Stenson is another big name that will be playing at the Albatross. The experienced Swede, nicknamed the Iceman, won The Open in 2016 and has 21 victories to his name. Six on the PGA, eleven on the European Tour. He also won a silver medal at the first Olympic tournament in Rio in 2016.
"We have been trying to get Henrik for a long time and this year we have finally done it. I believe Henrik will be a great attraction for the fans coming to Albatros," said Petr Dedek, owner of the Relmost company.
Stenson, 45, has won the Ryder Cup three times with the European team, has also won a WGC Match Play event and has finished in the top 10 in majors 14 times.
"Hi, this is Henrik. Can't wait to tee off at the Czech Masters in August. So Prague, here we go," said Sweden's Henrik Stenson.
Thomas Pieters is the defending champion for 2019, having won the tournament twice in the past. The Czech Masters 2020 has been cancelled due to Covid restrictions.
